To cleanse the scalp, mix shampoo and water in a spray bottle and spray the mixture directly on the scalp between the parts in a cornrow base. Massage the entire scalp to release any dirt or product build-up, then rinse thoroughly.

Before washing the hair, brush out all tangles starting from the bottom and working up to the top. For curly hair, do not brush, instead finger comb to remove all tangles. Wash the hair with a synthetic shampoo in lukewarm water, apply conditioner, allow the fiber to absorb it for a couple of minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Gently squeeze out excess water and pat dry with a clean towel. Do not rub, and allow the hair to air dry.
